Let’s get started?

Let’s see…I’m a freelance writer and researcher who also has held the following jobs: visiting assistant professor of English; instructor of English; textbook editorial assistant; STEAM educator; legal secretary; vintage shop assistant; and cocktail waitress.

I hold a Ph.D. in English – 19th century British Literature, specifically – with teaching expertise in literary analysis, persuasive rhetoric, and research writing. I love literature, poetry, humor, memoir/autobiography, non-fiction, neuroscience, 80s New Wave, and cheesy movies and television shows.

I write about lifestyle, books, education, and pets, mostly cats, mostly as a contract writer for Hill’s Pet company (look me up under Christine O’Brien at hillspet.com). I’m a professional member of the Cat Writers’ Association (CWA) and have won awards from them for my cat stuff.

I am a magazine-loving, latte-drinking GenXer who lives in the Midwest with my husband and daughter. I’m also the human mom of a couple of cats.

My cats, doing what they do best

Welcome, friends.
